French-speaking guide and coordinator - Edinburgh
We invite a multifaceted individual to join us, blending the charm of French-speaking tour guiding with the precision of tour coordination.
Key responsibilities
French-speaking guide
-
Lead an average of 5 walking tours per week (tours vary between 2 to 4 hours for groups of between 1 and 20 people)
-
Have a keen interest in Edinburgh and its surroundings. While training and content will be provided, your personal touch will make all the difference
Coordination & administration
-
Handle email requests from customers & partners, working alongside the directors.
-
Manage team communication and time management: schedule tours, update calendars, finalise tour details, and answer related queries.
-
Uphold exemplary customer service, responding to queries across various platforms, including the website, mailbox, and social media.
-
Facilitate basic procurement tasks, such as regular supply orders for tours and bookings with local partners.
Content production
-
Research to enhance current tours or develop new ones.
-
Update content on the drive for factual accuracy and team-wide accessibility.
-
Draft engaging content for social media to enhance our digital footprint.
Job details
The Essentials:
-
Working hours: 35 hours per week, with shifts either from Tuesday to Saturday or Wednesday to Sunday. Overtime opportunities available.
-
Standard working hours: 9/10am to 5/6pm
-
Compensation: £13.50 per hour/ £24,570 annually
-
Start date: 1st February 2024
-
Hybrid working: 50% in Edinburgh city centre, 50% remote. All necessary work equipment will be provided)

28 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)

Essential qualities:

Fluency in both French (oral and written) and English

Ability to connect with a diverse range of people

Ability to commute to and from Edinburgh city centre

A desire to work outdoors - this role involves walking outdoors for up to 8 hours a day

Freelance position - paid on a monthly basis, depending on how many tours you undertake

Tours will be allocated to our team of freelance guides on a first-come, first served basis.

Compensation: £100 per 3-hour tour

Fully adaptable around your existing commitments and schedule
